* Effectively employs many different database design techniques.
* Possesses demonstrated work experience with more than one relational database management system.
* Demonstrates expert knowledge of PHP & Python
* Creates XML schemas. Has good overall knowledge of XML & Javascript (AJAX)
* Has good understanding of XHTML & CSS
* Possesses significant knowledge of client server and internet systems architectures.
* Creates well designed, reusable objects.
* Understands browser specific compatibility issues.
* Understands the benefits of the various design methodologies and object oriented environments.
* Experience of 2-3 years on web technologies

Voicetap nominated for Mobile Premier Awards
Just when the celebrations of winning The Red Herring Global 100 award (more on this later)were about to end, Mrigank shared the big news. Voicetap is a part of a select group of 50 winners chosen out of over 250 candidates from all over the world.
The Mobile Premier Awards are the largest open and global startup competition in the mobile industry. Participation to these awards is free and open to any startup with a mobile angle. It will all lead to the Mobile Premier Awards event to take place in Barcelona during the Mobile World Congress.
We all are super excited about this news and are looking forward for the final showdown that would happen at Barcelona on Feb 15th. Wish us Luck !!

Best of 09
This is one post that I have been itching to write. This year has been anything but dull. We have had our shares of lows and highs but overall the year has been purelyt fantastic. On a lighter note, Mrigank finally started blogging. He has even started Tweeting !! (Trust me this is a biggie). Even Dev got himself a twitter account – Sandip though has created one but is yet to accept the power of twitter. Arpit and Siddharth finally got hold of an apartment. I have been fairly irregular with my blog. Mukul has ..err … well chuck it . Lets not even mention Sudhir out here.
On a serious note , 2009 has been full of action . The year for us at Voicetap started in Feb when Mrigank came down, got me and Dev hooked to the idea. A lot has happened since then – The Conference Calls, Career and Education Series – The Summer in 2 cubicles (more on this soon), raising funds, new office , new team, Getafixx, awesome feedback from users, Red Herring Asia 100, and now finally the flagship product which is ready to be rolled out. Each of these events have their own exciting stories attached with them. Not to mention the dozen of parties, the latest one being the Avatar show (btw you just cannot afford to miss it in 3D).
What next-
The coming next months will be jam packed. The year will start off with Mrigank presenting at COMSNET startup showcase on 8th in Banglore, post which we would be competing for Red Herring Global 100 at LA.

What are we doing ?
The past one month has been super exciting at the Voicetap Office – and is just not because of the Red Herring Asia 100 that we won last month but also because after many all nighter’s and pizza parties, our flagship product is up and ready. And as I speak, at this very moment a gang of secret beta testers are trying out the product and giving it a spin. A lot has been done but let me say – quite a lot needs to be done. Nevertheless the Team has been partying like never before. Thanks to Dada and Sudhir and of course Dev – the feedback definitely looks promising and in times to come we shall open the product to more and more people.

Btw just in case you are curious and excited about the phone product, let me share a brief teaser about the product –
A phone based product that allows you to connect to experts across 4 verticals – Career, Education, Health and Money by simply dialing into a number and searching for the experts.

Why the name Getafixx
While we have received an amazing feedback and inputs from our users regarding Getafixx, we have also been asked, a lot of time now – Why the name Getafixx.
Let me share a little secret out here – Most of us here are BIG, I mean really big Cartoon/Comic/Animation followers. Siddharth loves reading comics (Chacha Chaudhary being his personal favorite), Mrigank is a die hard Harry Potter fan, I personally am a big Pixar Fan and yes not to mention Dev who has been a big Asterix & Obelix follower .
But then the question is WHY GETAFIXX -
So Getafixx the name is derived from the comic character in Asterix and Obelix. He is the druid who conjures up various magical potions which can cure all ailments. We thought it would be apt to name the engine as Getafixx – because its core area of expertise is to help cure knowledge related ailments – quickly and effectively.
Btw did i tell you about the Red Herring Asia 100.

Over the past 5 – 6 months, we have been busy trying to come up with a product that cuts through the faff and gets you direct access to expert knowledge. Voicetap For Publishers
We have always been looking for the exciting models that will help us extend our services to users more effectively and in a more targeted manner. And after a week long brain storming session we thought – Why not extend our services to publisher allowing them to offer a great value add service to their users – The option of connecting with relevant people on a phone call for absolutely no cost.
The idea excited a lot of publishers and hence the Voicetap Widget was introduced. Here is how the widget looks -You can have a look at the widget on the side bar of http://www.more.voicetap.in . Here are a some of the portals who have extended the service to their users -
